A Reminder of the 4th of July...

This evening we saw our neighborhood gaggle swim toward the mouth of our river for the evening (?), and remembered how confused they were on the 4th. Most of the homes along the river had some pretty loud fireworks, often sounding like gunshots. The ducks and geese, not sure where to go, swam back and forth.

Some milestones occurred on the 4th, also. John doggie paddled for about a minute independently. Yahoo! It's a step.

Also, John learned how to play kickball from some of his neighborhood buddies. What fun!

Of Baseball and Weening...

Today we went over Grandma's to celebrate Uncle Brian's 32nd birthday! Uncle Brian was a star pitcher in his day, and it looks like John has some potential with baseball, as well! John actually made contact in the above photo...pretty impressive for his first time without a tee.

Sweet Sarah has been officially weened from nursing! Can we get an "Amen"! She still loves to have "body contact", so she often likes to put her cheek on my rock hard abdomen (hee-hee). Sarah, also, is sleeping through the night...finally! It has only taken 17 months and 3 jars of anti-eye puffing creme!
