Great Wolf Lodge

Thanks to Auntie Carol's Christmas check, we had a great time at Great Wolf Lodge last week!

The kids thought the "cabin" was a great change from boat living!

I think John loved the "Wolf Rider Wipeout" the most. Need to get there early, though. Lines get long here!

Sarah loved the Lazy River. Daddy loved to hold her under the water falls...

John also liked the "Big Foot Pass"...

...so did Daddy!


It is most fun if you can meet up with some friends!

Just a few highlights from Christmas 2009... We were a little slow on the camera this year!

The Perfect Princess Birthday Party

Sarah's birthday party was quite a challenge this year. It is hard enough having friends over on the boat, let alone energetic party-goers. My mom's house was out of the question, too. My grandmother has really taken a turn for the worse with her dementia and she is now living with my mom. So, Big Vanilla came to the rescue! The play gym was awesome!

The first hour of her party was strictly play time on the equipment. Then, the girls got ready for the Princess Ball. They donned their dress-ups, designed their own necklaces and applied make-up. They loved it! Then, they played a game of "Dance Freeze" and a game of "Musical Purse" (like hot potato). As the girls got out, they were to wash their hands and have a seat at the table for cake.

And, on a side note: Sarah is now 4, even though her party was 2 weeks after her birthday. She said she couldn't turn 4 until her party! Silly girl!

Puking pumpkins and volcanoes...oh my

John insisted in carving a pumpkin, and making it "puke". It looks pretty cool. Sarah's, of course, is a "princess" pumpkin!

John and daddy had fun "erupting" his birthday volcano. I'm not sure who had more fun....

Bedtime Sillies

"I'm up to no good..."

My little Sarah... she is sooo sweet... most of the time... She does have this side of her, though, that is quite... scary! Today, I reminded her to finish her green beans. "No, I will not do it!", was her response. Momma mia!

Snow...

John was ready for a snowball fight after being cooped in the boat for a day! He got me a few times!


Sarah didn't like being a target for John's snowballs. She painted her face like a tiger and "roared" at him many times... Crazy girl!

The Wildcats are a serious crew... John is bringing the ball in during a game. In today's game, John didn't guard his own teammate! We are making progress! Now, if we can get him to stop jumping like a frog on the court... (yes, with his hands on the floor)...

Bowling with Friends

Poor Mr. John was being attacked by children. John scored a 76!

This is what Sarah really wanted to wear today... Both top and pants are light-weight (and mis-matched!) She refused to change for our walk to the beach with Dusty. I let her learn a lesson. She was frozen in minutes, so we had to leave the beach early...

Another round with home-made play do. The recipe called for 3/4 cup flour and water each, and a teaspoon of salt. I accidentally used the liquid measuring cup for the flour... duh... We needed to add more flour to make it work...
