Future Politicians

One of the many things John has taught his little sister is saying "hi!" to perfect strangers. All day today, Sarah said "hi!" to everyone she saw. After saying "hi!" twice, she will say "bye!" twice, also. John fills in the gaps by telling everyone our itinerary for the day.

There are pros and cons for being a 'talker'. Although I never got in trouble in school for being talkative, I am afraid that now, sometimes I just cannot stop talking! I don't even have anything exciting to talk about!

This might sound strange, but my prayer request for BSF this week was to have God reveal to me where I need improvement in my friendships. It was loud and clear: I talk too much and listen too little!

My friends are such troopers for putting up with me!

So, I guess I need to properly assign the blame, as well. I suppose John learned how to be a talker by watching and hearing his mama!

True Meaning of Easter

Again, I feel the gentle nudge of the Holy Spirit making straight my paths.

How often do I spend time working on the appearance of a healthy Christian home, verses true deep relationship with Christ? I am so ashamed that my daily quiet times with Christ often get crowded out with housework, exercise, children, and --yes--blogging.

We spent a good part of Friday and Saturday (actually only about 4 hours total) trying to find a cute dress for Sarah that would keep her warm in this crazy weather. On Easter Sunday, we got dressed to go. Sarah and John were adorable ....

Then, the floodgates were opened: Sarah decided to ooze green from her nose. It was so obnoxious...and she had a fever...that we thought it would be best if we kept her home. Good thing, because she got sick later...

Raising Five had a similar experience...

I sit here convicted...

O.K. I was cut off today by a big pick 'em up truck. Honestly, I usually don't worry about the people who do that to me (maybe his child is in the ER...) Well, today, my carnality got the better of me... I actually started speeding up to chase him down! Can you believe it?

So, later today, after the kids were in bed, I "cozied" up in my smugness to do my bible study.

And look! Today's bible reading included Romans 12:17 :

" Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everybody."

A smack in the face! I needed that! One reason I do not have a fish on my Trooper is so that I do not embarrass any other Christians...just in case I accidentally cut someone off.

Maybe that guy was late for his bible study...
