Swimming Thoughts...

It is hard to concentrate on much else. When I become consumed with a thought, it takes every ounce of determination to focus on anything else!

I have just completed Dave Ramsey's book, Total Money Makeover. I basically knew alot of the information from Crown Financial ministries. What he offers is a good dose of motivation. He is like the late Larry Burkett on speed.

I only wish that hubby and I read this book before we were married... We came into our marriage with my hefty student loan, plus my "living expenses" I charged while in PT school. Hubby was living on a paid-for 41 foot boat, without debt.

Unfortunately, or fortunately, however you look at it....we are finally abiding by a written budget...only 8.5 years into our marriage. Oh, how much money we have wasted! Now, with 2 little ones, I do not want to work more than I have to (currently 2 nites and Sat. morning/week). And, unfortunately, I have to. I would probably still work a bit (like 4 hours a week!) if I didn't have to, just because it's fun for me.

So now, inspired, I want to eliminate our debt with "gazelle intensity", a phrase he uses in his book. But how? Maybe we will survive on rice and beans....

On a lighter note:

The above photo shows our little princess on John's bed. Sarah loves her big brother! In fact, she often will refuse to go to bed until Johnny boy has fallen asleep. Our bedtime routine involves reading a story on John's bed. While I am reading, Sarah will either follow along, or try and lay her head on the book.

Tonight she positioned her belly on the book. I think she was contriving her plan in the above shot...look at that grin!

My husband and I read much of Dave Ramsey's book together. I really liked his down to earth approach.

Keep the gazelle intensity. Knock out those debts and be free of them! :)
